Great place, great food and beer, friendly service. A one off/change of pace in New Orleans. The traditional German foods and beers are so good that this place is on my frequent hits for lunch or dinner. The owner is often on location and takes his quality control seriously. From appetizers to desserts this is a must for locals and tourists alike!

I just got the bee sting cake and their soft pretzel, but both had me in awe with how good they were. That cake is probably one of the best cakes I've ever had, insanely soft and moist with a great honey flavor that wasn't overpowering. The pretzel also slaps -- amazing crusty exterior, soft interior, perfectly and evenly salted, and tastes great (also it's bigger than my face). Best part is, it's only 4 during Happy Hour. I've really got to try their other items, but just these two non-entrees (and the really friendly staff) have made me a big fan.

We really love Bratz Y’all! Bistro. This is also a bakery and a biergarten and they bake their own pretzels and goodies right here. The food is very good, authentic and super fresh. The ambiance is a lot like being in a German Biergarten, fun and friendly. Their service is also very good. A really fun spot to eat.

We stumbled upon this place when we were just strolling the area, and we were very pleasantly surprised! The outdoor seating area is adorable and there’s even a play area for kids. The rooster was also a fun addition to the experience. The Bavarian was delicious, as well as the beer cheese pretzel. I’ll definitely be back!

German food was not what I expected from New Orleans. This place is Amazing! Good beer in a liter or half liter mug. Good music in the beirgarden. If you are here on a weekend, get the pork shank. It is big enough to share if you are willing, but it is good enough to keep eating every bit of slow roasted the deep fried deliciousnesss. They had a "sexy veggie sausage" my wife ordered that was shocking respectable in flavor and texture. If we are back in New Orleans, will head out to Bywater again for this spot.

The most authentic Bier Garten, German food, Bier, and atmosphere I have visited on the coast. The lead German cook/chef was hands on with the food prep and quality. He personally came to the table to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. He was authentic German and was very serious as it was important to him (in case you didn't know, Deutsch humor comes after work is done...) The quality and quantity were abundant...the beer is on tap, but I chose Erdimger Alchohol Free bier as I was driving (this was in a bottle). The Bier Garten (outside seating area), was the best that could be expected for where they are located. The greenery adds to the atmosphere and you almost forget that it is a very tight space. There is very little indoor seating, it is more a table to stand at while you wait for your to go order. I highly recommend!!!

We were in Germany two years ago and always try German food everywhere we go since coming back and this is definitely the closest we’ve found to authentic Germany food. The potato salad is a must try!!! Loved everything about this place!!
